The CLI stores durable configuration in ~/.abadge/config.json. Sensitive runtime state — bearer tokens, unwrapped root keys — is held in daemon memory only.

~/.abadge/config.json

Permissions: 0600.
The config file does not store any bearer token, password, or secret. Stored agent references are scoped to the current (operator, apiUrl) pair — the CLI migrates older fields away on first load and prints a warning.

Daemon files

The daemon enforces the socket permissions on startup. The CLI refuses to talk to a socket with looser permissions.

Setting apiUrl

Most users never need to set this manually — it’s written by abadge login. To target a different deployment:
The apiUrl is persisted. Subsequent abadge login calls reuse it unless you override.

Setting the active org and profile

Subsequent item, agent, and permission commands act on the active org and profile.

Resetting state

To start fresh:
On the next abadge login, the config file is recreated.
