get_audit lets the model inspect the audit trail. It reads the GET /v1/audit endpoint under the hood and returns the structured entries.

Input

Output

A JSON object with an entries array, newest first:

What it’s good for

  • Debugging permission denials (“why did use_secret fail?”)
  • Confirming a recent action landed in the audit log
  • Building a small “recent activity” view inside an agent’s reasoning

What it’s not good for

  • Long-range analytics — use the dashboard or CLI for that
  • Listing entries the agent isn’t allowed to see — the audit endpoint enforces org scoping
  • Rich filtering by event type, result, agent, or surface — call the API directly for those filters

Permission

The MCP agent must belong to the organization whose audit log is being read. There is no separate view_audit capability — audit entries are scoped by the agent’s organization.

Audit

get_audit does not write its own audit row. It’s a read of read.
